One way to communicate with computers is through the written language. The evolution of software and hardware approaches to this type of gesture computing can be found in the following wikipedia link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Handwriting_recognition One of the original pioneers of the Graffiti approach was Jeff Hawkins author of On Intelligence. There have been lots of commercial attempts at making this easy for the consumer. Today there are several successful approaches on the market for PDA Owners and Tablet and/or Pen based PC Owners. Another alternative designed to deal with the small screen size of PDA devices is the use of a virtual keyboard. I-Tech technology creates a virtual keyboard the the user can connect to a laptop or in my case a Pocket PC via Bluetooth technology. This is a great alternative to tapping out text using a stylus and ideal for editing Microsoft Word documents that are on my Pocket PC device
I use the I-Tech with my Pocket PC and find that the keyboard is easy to work with and use in any lighting conditions and just about every flat surface imaginable. You can find out more about the I-Tech device at http://www.virtual-laser-keyboard.com/ Add as favourites (56) | Quote this article on your site | Views: 5027 | Print | E-mail
